Elijah is wearing the mantle of Christ in the second breath level anointing of ministry in his representation and testimony of Jesus, (Rev 19:10) having been preserved by angel visitation from his offer of martyrdom, interviewed and engaged by God at the mouth of the cave, and renewed in commission, and being born again in the fashion of Christ in resurrection, to a lively hope of immortality through the SPIRIT AND COMMAND OF CHRIST.
He is engaged thereafter even by a pledge from God as later witnessed by Elisha when Elijah ascended, through what JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF would accomplish at the cross, "you are never going to die". (Luke 9:30,31)
He was empowered at the mouth of the cave, to disciple Elisha in God's testimony of Christ, and made a living witness of that theology of immortality, now revealed and ready to be commanded over all the rest through Jesus Christ.
Elisha was commissioned by a word of promise, with a stipulation that he must see and witness Elijah's ascension as he would be taken up and away from him, in order to receive a double portion of his Spirit, and to pick up the mantle of Jesus Christ, that fell upon the ground (representing a common grace to humanity in continuation of mortality, and a specific ministry of the second breath Holy Spirit for salvation) after Elijah's ascension.
The Mantle of Christ is revealed as fallen upon the frailty of human flesh, upon Elijah, as a second witness of God's promise to immortality, succeeding Enoch who was before him, and the Lord Jesus CHRIST, from heaven in HIS OWN PERSON in the third and final witness of immortality coming to all the rest, in the testimony of Jesus by the Spirit of God, to initiate and command IMMORTALITY over the rest.
Elisha became a witness of Elijah's ascension, to all of Israel, as the Church became a witness of Jesus Christ ascended in MESSIANIC KINGDOM after His own death and resurrection to the whole world, and to the very end of all mortality completely.
The ministry of Elisha, in this case is a picture of the double anointed Israel exalted/Churchontheground extending throughout the ages while mortality is yet engaged, by the succession of Christ's mantle from Elijah to John the Baptist, for final placement upon JESUS, for whom it was ordained and elected to inherit and self own in identity from the beginning!
The portion of anointing that rested on all the prophets of Israel landing finally upon John the baptist, made for the same WORD more sure, and counted as a double WITNESS portion to and through the Lord Jesus Christ HIMSELF, who has received the SPIRIT OF GOD without measure.
HE ALONE imparts a two witness and double portion anointing finally upon two prophets raised up TO POUR OIL on the ELECT CHURCH with HIS OWN MANTLE to introduce and confirm the generation of imminent change to immortality.

The elder unto the ELECT LADY and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;

For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.

Of course we know it is God signifying and effectuating the passing of the mantle, at the baptism when the dove appeared to John as he was instructed would happen in the defining moment of his identification of THE VERY MESSIAH AND CHRIST in person, and which DOVE rested upon, and remained upon JESUS thereafter and forever, the very majesty of GOD'S VOICE proclaiming "THIS IS MY BELOVED SON" this is the beginning of John's own decrease on behalf of all Israel bowing low to acknowledge JESUS as THE VERY CHRIST PROMISED TO COME, and thereafter John embraced his own submission to martyrdom in continuation and finality of service to the wearing of Elijah's mantle as being passed on FINALLY and FOREVER, to the rightful everlasting and permanent HEIR and OWNER thereof.
Thereby signifying the necessity of all of Israel, to be born again through faith in Jesus Christ, to ascend with Him in A PARTNERSHIP IN BRIDAL PLEDGE, WITH HIS ONLY RESURRECTED PERSON, in KINGDOM OF MESSIANIC POWER AND AUTHORITY over the remainder of all humanity.
Listen carefully as I whisper now, beloved believer, Elijah's work on earth is done, finished in the death of John the Baptist, just like all the saints who have passed on before us, he has already been engaged and gathered to JESUS BY HIS GLORIOUS AND IMMORTAL PRESENCE AND POWER OF KINGDOM, AWAITING IN SECURITY THE FINAL SHOUT AND COMMAND TO IMMORTALITY.
John the Baptist, represented all the prophets that came before him in affirming Jesus Christ in the flesh as the sole author of immortality as given by the witness of Elijah.
For they had all said by their testimony "this is Christ", but John is the greatest of them all, because he said it of HIM IN HIS OWN PERSON CLOTHED IN THE FRAILTY OF HUMAN FLESH.
This is the completion of Elijah's work on earth, AND SO HE REMAINS, ASCENDED TO THE PLACE PREPARED FOR HIM WITH THE LORD.
There does remain to be revealed on earth, two yet unknown and nameless prophets, like Elijah, and Elisha to be raised up on behalf of Jesus' love and dedication to the Church and clothed upon with power from on high by being born again and made witnesses by JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF, of HIS final message to all of humanity before HE swallows up mortality with immortality completely and all together AT HIS APPEARING AND UNIVERSAL COMMAND FROM HEAVEN.
When we realize that Jesus is the very substance of immortality in His own body, He is THE resurrection (IMMORTALITY) and THE life (SPIRIT), then we can understand why the Apostles substantiate His testimony from before the foundations of the world at the proclamation of God, "let there be LIGHT", rather than drawing undue attention to the surrogate witness prophets that came before HIM, for Paul the Apostle calls Jesus the second man Adam, as the LORD FROM HEAVEN and initiator of IMMORTALITY, AS PREEXISTING, and reserved in the "seed" of the virgin woman Eve, before the issue of humanity through the procreation of Adam. Gen 3:15
HIS election, ministry, and calling is revealed in communion with the Church, by impartation of HIS GLORY in earthen vessels, until our change to IMMORTALITY and into the perfection of likeness to HIMSELF.
And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

THIS IS THE PRIMARY WITNESS AND EVER LIVING PROPHECY OF ELIJAH TO THE CHURCH, and resulting confirmation and witness of John the Baptist by the same SPIRIT, to identify CHRIST in PERSON on behalf of THE ISRAEL OF GOD exalted together with Him even now, and throughout all generations, for God made declaration of the promise of immortality through the command of Jesus Christ throughout all of Israel, by the prophets that preceded HIS MANIFEST GLORY IN THE IMMORTAL BODY OF JESUS CHRIST, as promised from the very beginning of all humanity.
Elisha in likeness to Elijah, was endowed with a double portion anointing while yet, and still being subject to death, in example and likeness to the Church as it presently is.
Elijah represents Christ like as comparable to Enoch the seventh man from Adam, in a two witness, forecast of the manifestation of IMMORTALITY BELONGING TO THE GLORY OF JESUS CHRIST ALONE TO COMMAND.
HIS mantle was passed along in earthly succession by every surrogate that preceded HIM in the form or equivalent of the lamb skin, from generation to generation, UNTIL THE LAMB WHO IS, WHO WAS, AND IS TO COME, PERFORMED IT IN HIS OWN SKIN.
First initiating IMMORTALITY for HIMSELF ALONE and then ONCE and for ALL AT HIS COMMAND over the REST.
The prophecy of Elijah to Elisha:
2 Kings 2:10
And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, IF thou SEE me when I am taken (UP) from thee, it SHALL be SO unto thee; (AND YOU WILL HAVE A DOUBLE PORTION, ONE BY MY DISCIPLESHIP IN YOUR SIGHT ON EARTH, AND THE SECOND BY REVELATION OF VISION AND BLESSED HOPE FOR IMMORTALITY AS COMING DOWN WITH THE MANTLE OF CHRIST FALLING UPON YOU FROM HEAVEN)
but if NOT, it shall NOT be so. (AND YOU WILL HAVE TO PREACH, AND ENGAGE YOUR MINISTRY, ONLY BY THE WITNESS OF MY DISCIPLESHIP TO YOU ON THE EARTH, AS ALL THE OTHER PROPHETS IN THIS GENERATION HAVE ALSO OBSERVED OF ME, IN WANT OF A DOUBLE PORTION COMMISSION AND EMPOWERMENT FROM HEAVEN FOR THE EYE WITNESS PERCEPTION OF CHRIST IN REVELATION OF HIS GIFT OF IMMORTALITY CONFIRMED AS A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY.)
The implication for Elisha in his word of commission is if he failed to see Elijah ascended, he would then only have the portion of ministry afforded by his discipleship previously afforded, and not as well, the double portion eyewitness testimony of his ascension to engage a more sure word of prophecy fueling his blessed hope of IMMORTALITY through the truth and testimony of Jesus Christ and by HIS SPIRIT.
It is spoken of those who fail to recognize HIM and SEE HIM for WHO HE IS, that they are merely hirelings and not become sons and daughters thereby falling short of HIS ELECTION AND CALLING.
This could be compared to the case of any who believe in the teachings and historic witness of Jesus in the brevity of His mortality, and even behold and testify about the wonder of His empty tomb, but have not pressed on to intimacy with Him, to behold Him in the glory of His resurrection and maturation to true partnership in HIS PRESENT MESSIANIC KINGDOM, as a true witness on earth of HIS IMMORTALITY in heaven.
Many of these, extrapolate from the record of his word, muddling around in the old testament and with imaginatory exploration of teachings comparing themselves to one another. Trained only in the first nature of His discipleship as was Elisha's state, before his eye witness of Elijah's ascension. And so they are deceived and susceptible to deception in the imaginations of men's persons in admiration.
MARK 13:22
These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

They desire to deceive "IF IT WERE POSSIBLE" even the very "ELECT LADY" named by CHRIST IN PERSON with HIS OWN LIPS,
"HIS CHURCH". WHO IS HIS OWN ESTABLISHED GOVERNMENTAL BODY REPRESENTING HIM CORPORATELY IN MORTAL BODIES ON EARTH AS THE HILL OF THE LORD, MOUNT ZION, EMPOWERED BY HIS VERY HOLY SPIRIT, "AS HE IS" IMMORTAL IN HEAVEN. THE TRUE DIRT HILL OF THE LORD
That's a lot to consider already, as you must, pray and read through the bible again, AND AGAIN, in PRAYERFUL MEDITATIONS AND REFLECTIONS, to validate the truth of this.
Such was the double portion ministry in hope of immortality that Elisha received from the witness of Elijah, that an affirmation of His blessed hope, was still tangibly resident in the bones of Elisha, even after his own death.
As one was thrown down into the pit with the bones of Elisha, so are we likewise baptized into Christ's death, so His resurrection power can be displayed in and through us, for we are flesh of His flesh, and bone of His bone.
And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

These two prophets, (Elijah representing Jesus) and (Elisha the Church) can really afford us an understanding of the situation when the end of all mortality is at hand. The life of ministry imparted to Elisha from Elijah is a comparable witness of Jesus as HE ever lives in impartation of HIS POWER, to the Church while death is temporarily raging on the earth during the ministry of the Church to the ending of all mortality when the universal command to immortality is issued from heaven.
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

I am probably going to write in one or more subsequent blogs, on Elijah and his empowerment in the blessed hope of immortality at the cave, following his willingness to embrace martyrdom, when he laid it all down, and poured it all out to God, under the evergreen tree as described in 1 Kings 19.
"FATHER COME QUICKEN AND EMPOWER YOUR WITNESSES POUR OUT DIVINE OIL FROM HEAVEN BY YOUR SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION TO STRENGTHEN AND BUILD UP THE CHURCH IN THE MOST HOLY FAITH OF IMMORTALITY READY TO COME AT YOUR COMMAND FROM HEAVEN, GIVE US THE TRUTH THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, IN THE HOLY EVER BLESSED AND ETERNAL NAME OF JESUS CHRIST WHO SITS IN YOUR THRONE"...AMEN! AMEN!
